EUGENE, Ore. - Honor Flight began as an effort to take the nation's World War II veterans to Washington, D.C.
The program has expanded to welcome veterans of Korea and Vietnam, too.
Both men and women who have served our country take part.
KVAL News has had the honor of joining the South Willamette Honor Flight from Oregon in recent years.
In this special half hour presentation #LiveOnKVAL:
Learn how the program began.
Experience the impact of visiting the Korean War memorial.
Hear from Vietnam veterans on what it means to visit the wall.
See an experience Honor Flight veterans cherish.
To learn more about how to participate as a veteran or a guardian on the trip, or to donate to support the program, contact the South Willamette Honor Flight organization.
