Erin Slinde

Erin is KVAL's Sports Multimedia Journalist and this is her first job working in local news.

Before coming to KVAL, Erin was a producer at PHNX Sports, a new multimedia platform covering all professional and college sports teams in Arizona.

Erin graduated in 2021 from Arizona State University with a Master's Degree in Sports Journalism where she covered the Phoenix Suns in the 2021 NBA Finals and the University of Arizona Baseball team in the College World Series and anchored Cronkite News on Arizona PBS. Erin also was the color commentator for ASU Volleyball on the PAC 12 Plus network.

Erin received her undergraduate degree in Broadcast Journalism from West Virginia University where she played Division 1 Women's Volleyball. Erin was also the on-field host for the Pirates minor league affiliate team, the West Virginia Black Bears, and started her own web series for WVU Sports, "The Mountaineer Way."

Erin's love for sports started when she played multiple sports growing up in Minnesota.

Erin is looking forward to telling the stories of local and college athletes, just like herself.
