EUGENE, Ore. - Duck softball coach Mike White is leaving Oregon to coach at the University of Texas, athletics officials confirmed Monday.

“We appreciate all of Mike White’s contributions to the Oregon softball program over the last several years, and we wish him the best of luck in his new role. We will begin the search for a new head softball coach immediately. Chelsea Spencer will serve as our interim head coach during the search," said Rob Mullens, the Oregon athletic director. “Oregon has the best softball stadium in the nation, the most dedicated and passionate fan base, and most importantly, an outstanding group of returning and incoming student-athletes. We will find a leader who will build upon the strong foundation already in place for our program.”

White coached 9 seasons at Oregon. His teams claimed four Pac-12 titles between 2013 and 2016.
