FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - Early in Oregon softball's regional game against Notre Dame, the only thing that could stop the Ducks was the weather.
With the Ducks leading 5-1 in the bottom fourth, the game had to be paused due to rain.
When play resumed two hours and 24 minutes later, the Fighting Irish seized momentum. They would score 3 runs in the 6th to make it 5-4 heading into the 7th and final inning.
In danger of losing their lead, the Ducks called upon their ace pitcher, Morgan Scott. She promptly came into the game and got three straight outs to preserve the win.
Oregon moves on to the winner's bracket of the double-elimination regional.
