Monster maker: 'I like to make things a little larger than life'

"I did a little freestyle, and ended up on its lid, did a pirouette in the air and flopped right over and busted up pretty good," Tucker said.

"People who come to watch monster trucks come to see carnage, come to see high horsepower, and smell the air when we're running and stuff," said David Tucker, "owner and slave" at DT Machine and Fabrication in Springfield.

The Flying Tiger is a "tuff truck," which he calls the "half-time show" at monster truck rallies. "I love putting on shows for people and going and getting big air and just crazy stunts and stuff," Tucker said.
