Baseball: Oregon State upset by Portland in mid-week game

On Tuesday, Oregon State's pitchers simply didn't have their stuff.

Oregon State gave up 20 hits in a 14-8 loss to Portland.

With the game tied 2-2 in the third, Aiden Jimenez had a chance to leave two runners stranded with two outs.

Instead, the Pilots' Evan Scovatto launched a 3-run home run to give his team the lead.

Oregon State responded in the bottom of the inning with Micah McDowell hitting a solo homer to drop the deficit to 5-3.

But the Beavers got outscored 9-5 the rest of the way as Oregon State fell to 36-16 on the season.

The team closes its regular season with a series against Western Carolina starting on Thursday.
