WASHINGTON (Sinclair Broadcast Group) -- Sen. John McCain of Arizona is returning to Congress very soon, according to CNN.

This report comes after McCain's close friend, Sen. Lindsey Graham, told CBS that McCain was coming back in January.

"Senator McCain is in rehab. He's coming back in January, (and) we need his voice now more than ever," Graham said during an interview on "Face the Nation."

The senator is currently battling a brain tumor. He was diagnosed in July and has been recovering in his home in Arizona. In December, McCain was being treated for a viral infection.

Reports also surfaced in the same month that McCain was becoming "increasingly frail" and that he's been "quieter than normal" during GOP meetings.

McCain was not available to vote on the GOP's tax plan which eventually passed both houses of Congress.

It is unknown which date McCain would actually return.
