One Oregon Coast city is asking Oregon State Parks to close off beach access for vehicles.

Lincoln City wants to close vehicle access at North 35th Court. People can take vehicles onto the beach within 150 feet of North 35th Court and North 15th Street as stated in Oregon Administrative Rule 736-024-0025.

Lincoln City has also requested a review of parking on the beach at 15th Street.

The Oregon Parks and Recreation rule advisory committee will meet virtually on Monday, May 1 at 12:00 p.m., and Wednesday, May 10 at 3:00 p.m. to review and discuss the proposed rule changes. Both meetings are open to the public and can be viewed at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCkqL6iVPBrfCTO27cNmCTwg.

Officials say the meeting agenda will include discussions on the impacts of proposed changes to safety, recreational uses, and other community needs.

The committee will also discuss any economic and fiscal impact of the proposed rules.
