(KVII) -- Waffle House Friday sent out an email to many of its loyal customers saying the restaurant will now offer delivery.

Too bad it's Friday, April 1.

ABC 7 Meteorologist Nicole Hartford said she was excited when she received the email from the Waffle House Regulars Club with the subject line reading "NOW OFFERING DELIVERY!"

Hartford's joy was short-lived after she opened the email only to find that Waffle House had just punked her.

Hartford said she was "heartbroken."

Here are the contents of the email Hartford received:

Although many people would love to get their All-Star Specialâ„¢ breakfast delivered directly to their door, we believe there's a lot more to Waffle House than our delicious Waffles and golden Hashbrowns. Dining at Waffle House is about that warm welcome you get as you walk through the door, no matter what time of day or night. It's about hearing your Salesperson call out your order in the mystical language only understood by other Waffle House Associates. It's about watching the Grill Operator drop your bacon on the sizzling hot grill before skillfully cooking your eggs to perfection. It's about hearing "Raisins in My Toast" playing softly on the juke box as you sip on your Vanilla Coke.

Hartford was not the only person to fall for Waffle House's prank.

The email ended with a quote from Waffle House co-founder and former CEOJoe Rogers Sr.

We are not in the food business; we are in the people business.

The email did, however, have a link where people could click to receive a free waffle.
