WILSONVILLE, Ore. – With one sheep at his side, Aaron Fletcher is making his way south on foot to Jacksonville to expand his flock.

He’s been making his way through the Portland area and he’s hard to miss. His lone companion is a dairy sheep named JC.

A KATU photographer caught up with Fletcher in Wilsonville.

He explained JC provides him with milk and clothing. He feels humans are taught to waste food and natural resources and he’s trying to open people’s eyes to a new way of life.

Fletcher carries around a jug of sheep milk; he says it’s extremely healthy. He wears clothes made from JC’s wool.

The roaming shepherd captured the attention of Canby residents Thursday.

"That sheep was trailing him just like a hound dog, a well-trained sheep," Canby resident Russ Langridge said.
