Police: Man took mower from home, cut victim's grass
PORT ARTHUR, Texas - The man wheeled a lawnmower out of storage at a stranger's home just before 8 p.m. Friday, April 1.
Security camera footage shows the man walk back inside and retrieve a gas can.
He checks the mower and gives the pull cord a rip.
Then he starts to move, mowing the victim's front and back yards before officers arrive on scene.
Police said Thursday that the suspect is then "seen running from the area while dragging the lawnmower with him. He abandons the lawnmower in an alley and evades apprehension."
Authorities in the Gulf Coast community of Port Arthur, east of Houston, made a public appeal on Facebook May 5, 2022, for help locating the suspect, who is wanted on a warrant for Burglary of the Building.
"Yeah ok," one commenter replied, "someone send him over to my house, tho. My grass is too long."
