Police: Man arrested for assault on house with hammer

ROSEBURG, Ore. -- Roseburg police arrested a man Sunday morning, after they say he attacked a house with a hammer.

Police say they were called to a home in the 1600 block of Morris just before 6:00 am, for a report of a man trespassing.

Police say they arrived and found that Thomas Michael Conklin, 21, of Roseburg, had hopped the fence into his neighbor's yard, where he proceeded to hit their house with a hammer.

Conklin was told to leave but he came back into the yard, police said.

Conklin was arrested and charged by police with first degree criminal trespass.
