Police: 7-year-old Meridian child finds rat poison in trick-or-treat bag

MERIDIAN, Idaho (CBS2) — A 7-year-old child found a baggy of rat poison after trick-or-treating in the Presidential subdivision off of Eagle Road in Meridian.

The poison was found as the child was going through their trick-or-treat bag when they got home.

Police say they do not have a suspect at this time and the child was unable to remember which house it came from.

"If you had a child trick or treating in the Presidential subdivision police urge you to sort through your child’s candy and contact the Meridian Police Department if you discover something similar," police say.
