Lottery fever builds as jackpots combined nearly $860 million

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WCHS/WVAH) - Lottery jackpots estimated at nearly $860 million are now on the table.

No one landed the major prize in Tuesday’s Mega Millions drawing, boosting Friday’s estimated jackpot to $418 million – the fourth largest in the game’s 15-year history. The lottery’s website said a ticket worth $4 million was sold in Florida, and a ticket worth $1 million was sold in Ohio.

Meanwhile, the estimated jackpot for Powerball’s drawing Wednesday is $440 million.

Drawings for both games are at 11 p.m., and the $2 tickets must be purchased by 9:59 p.m. on the day of the respective drawings.

The estimated cash value for Powerball is $278.3 million, while the estimated cash value for Mega Millions is $261 million.
