PORTLAND, Ore. – Parts of the Portland metro area could see snow late Sunday night and early Monday morning, KATU Meteorologist Rhonda Shelby says.
She says people in the area should keep an eye on the forecast because the weather could turn snowy at the end of the weekend.
“As always, amounts will vary depending on your area and influence of cold air from the Gorge. Gorge residents should prepare for another round of snow and ice for early next week!” she said.
Meanwhile, the Cascades and Central Oregon will receive significant snow this weekend at elevations above 1,500 feet.
A winter weather advisory and winter storm watch is in effect for the Cascades, Central and Eastern Oregon. It could extend through Tuesday.
Travelers in these areas should expect difficult driving conditions.
In the valley, Rhonda Shelby says the rain will continue into Saturday and Sunday.
