Wind gusts could reach up to 90 miles per hour in parts of Columbia River Gorge
CORBETT, Ore. – The National Weather Service in Portland issued a High Wind Warning Wednesday for parts of the Columbia River Gorge.
Forecasters say high winds will slam Corbett, Rooster Rock, Multnomah Falls, Cascade Locks, North Bonneville and Stevenson until 10 p.m. Wednesday.
Winds will come from the east at 30 to 50 miles per hour with gusts up to 75 miles per hour.
Experts say the windiest locations, including Crown Point, could experience gusts reaching 80 to 90 miles per hour.
The strong wind could cause trees and branches to fall. It could also cause power outages.
The National Weather Service warns travel could become difficult along the Interstate 84 and Highway 14 corridors; especially for high-profile vehicles.
