WINCHESTER BAY, Ore. - The South Coast is gearing up for tourism season.
The Umpqua River Lighthouse museum and gift shop now has extended hours through September. The museum director says it'll rake in more revenue.
"March through September is our absolute busiest months, you go from having $15,000 dollars months to $40,000,” said James Davis, the museum director.

Davis says the extension brings over $10,000 more annually.
The $8 admission combined with gift shop sales brought in close to $200,000 dollars last year. They're open 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
