ROSEBURG, Ore. -- Volunteers in Roseburg are making sure kids don't go hungry during their winter break from school.

Roseburg Public Schools Nutrition Services gives kids and teens free lunch at different locations.

Kids receive fruits and vegetables along with a choice of meat.

Volunteers say the program is helpful to both kids and parents.

“It's awesome,” says food service assistant Sonia Brown. “This has been a great location here for the kids, and they're all excited and happy to get the lunch and we are too. We are excited for them."

Some free lunch locations for kids include Eastwood Park and Stewart Park in Roseburg.
