ROSEBURG, Ore. - Firefighters from Roseburg are back home with their families after spending two weeks fighting fires in Southern California.

The Roseburg Fire Department sent 5 firefighters to battle the Thomas Fire just north of Los Angeles. They were part of the 15 strike teams from Oregon dispatched to help California.

Firefighters said they have never experienced a fire like this in their lives.

"Very explosive, very fast-moving fire," Chris Sutton said. "Of course it was an urban interface, so it was burning into homes and properties."
