Valley River Inn arson suspect found unfit to stand trial

EUGENE, Ore. — Morgan Christopher Immesoete, the man arrested in June in connection to the arson at Valley River Inn in Eugene, has been found unfit to stand trial following a court-ordered mental evaluation.

Immesoete has one week to be transported to Oregon State Hospital where he will have one year to be returned to competence, according to the Lane County District Attorney's office.

Immesoete was charged with a Felony count of first-degree arson, as well as Reckless endangerment of another person.

His trial was set to begin on September 19, 2023.
