ALBANY, Ore. – The Albany Fire Department responded to a report of victims trapped in a residential fire Monday morning.
Fire officials say the call came in at 5:08 a.m. from 1905 Waverly Drive.
When crews arrived, they found the occupants, the homeowner, a roommate, and a guest visiting from out of town, safely out of the home.
The home was fully involved with fire when firefighters began fighting the blaze.
The Albany Fire Department said one dog made it out uninjured, but one perished inside.
The fire caused minimal damaged to neighboring properties. The home is a complete loss.
Fire officials are investigating the cause of the fire.
They remind residents to have functioning smoke alarms installed. This home did not have working smoke alarms. The guest in the living room woke to the fire and was able to get the other residents out.
The Red Cross and the Albany Firefighters Community Assistance Fund assisted the victims.
