EUGENE, Ore. – Heavy rain caused flooding in parks along the Willamette River in Eugene and Springfield on Monday.

"Alton Baker is experiencing extreme flooding," the City of Eugene said. "Parts of the Ruth Bascom Riverbank Path and Fern Ridge Path are flooded. Underpasses on the Fern Ridge Bike Path are also affected. As the rain continues, we may see more areas affected."

Eyewitness videos showed flooding in Island Park in Springfield, Oregon, too.

"The public is asked to please avoid any flooded areas," the City of Eugene said. "Do not walk, bike or drive through floodwater. The water is extremely cold and the current may be stronger than expected. Floodwater can hide rocks, trees, trash and debris that can be dangerous."
