Symantec 'permanently eliminating the positions of 66 employees' in Springfield
SPRINGFIELD, Ore. - Symantec plans on "permanently eliminating the positions of 66 employees" at its Springfield office.
The company notified the State of Oregon of the layoffs, as required under the WARN Act.
"Employees were notified in November 2017 and their termination date will be January 17, 2018," the company said.
Two of the 66 employees will work through January 26, the company noted.
"The layoffs are expected to be permanent," the company notified state officials.
The company said in October that it would scale back the Springfield site to 150 desks.
