EUGENE, Ore. - Two men wanted in connection with a shooting in Eugene and other crimes apparently killed themselves as a SWAT team in Washington state moved to take them into custody Thursday night.

Officers found Jacob “Jay” Timothy Richter-Shea, 23 - also known as "Smoke" - and Cody Duk-Woo Moore, 19, "deceased from what appeared to be self-inflicted gunshot wounds" inside a second story apartment in Vancouver, Washington.

The two were wanted in conncection with a shooting last weekend in Eugene.

The Clark County, Wash., Sheriff’s Office said detectives learned the two were staying at the Bridge Creek Apartments in a second story apartment.

Concerned the men might be armed and dangerous, the sheriff activated the Southwest Washington Regional SWAT team.

Around 6:30 p.m., officers saw a suspect at the back sliding glass door of the apartment.

"A noise flash distraction device was deployed and both subjects retreated back into the apartment," the sheriff's office said. "A short time later perimeter units reported hearing two muffled pop sounds. SWAT team members used a robot to enter the inside of the apartment and subsequently found both individuals deceased from what appeared to be self-inflicted gunshot wounds."
