Suspects throwing rocks, pumpkins at passing cars on I-5 exit to I-205, state police say
TUALATIN, Ore. – Someone is throwing things at passing cars on Interstate 5 near the I-205 interchange, and state troopers are looking for whoever is responsible.
Investigators believe the objects are being tossed from a walkway that runs along the I-5 southbound Exit 289 to I-205 northbound, which runs behind the Martinazzi Village apartments and other homes.
So far, troopers have taken ten reports of vehicles being damaged by thrown objects that include large rocks, branches, apples, and pumpkins.
There have been no reports of injuries and none of the incidents have resulted in crashes.
The incidents started in early September and the most recent was reported on Tuesday, Dec. 12.
Witness descriptions say the suspects range from early teens to early 20s. They were seen quickly running back up the hillside and out of sight.
