SUTHERLIN, Ore. — A structure fire in Sutherlin displaced a total of six occupants on Saturday morning, sparked by a nearby vehicle that went up in flames.
The Sutherlin Fire Department received calls of a fully involved vehicle fire at 380 S Calapooia St, just after 2:00 a.m. on Saturday morning.
Crews were on scene shortly after being dispatched, and started fire suppression efforts on the multiple vehicle fires that spread rapidly to a nearby structure. The fire was upgraded to a two-alarm fire.
Approximately 42 minutes later, the fire was knocked down and under control.
The structure was inhabitable after the fire, and six occupants were displaced. The occupants and their children were assisted by the American Red Cross in finding temporary placement.
The fire is currently under investigation by the Oregon State Police and Oregon State Fire marshal's office.
