State police on Roseburg I-5 speed change: 'It will be enforced'
ROSEBURG, Ore. -- Get ready to slow down when you drive on Interstate 5 near Roseburg.
The speed limit will be reduced and Oregon State Police want you to know about it.
Drivers will have to slow down from 65 to 60 mph.
With a growing number of serious and fatal crashes, OSP have been monitoring the area and they'll be keeping a close eye on the freeway when the change is made.
"We might plan a saturation with the local troopers here and that would just be to educate the public that we are serious about the reduction in speed and it will be enforced," says OSP Lt. Steve Mitchell.
The new speed limit signs will go up in December.
The change in speed will span milepost 123 to 127.
