Sheriff: Missing Albany woman found strangled; estranged husband found dead by suicide
ST. PAUL, Ore. - A body found in a field Monday morning has been positively identified as an Albany woman reported missing that same day.
Now investigators say her estranged husband - the primary person of interest in her death - was found dead inside his home Wednesday from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.
The investigation started at 7 a.m. with the discovery of a woman's body in a field outside St. Paul in Marion County.
Later in the day, 47-year-old Tricia Lynn Carver of Albany was reported missing to the Linn County Sheriff's Office.
Carver's car was found later that night in a restaurant parking lot in Woodburn, about 7 miles from where the body was found.
The next day, investigators positively identified the body as Carver.
"An autopsy determined that her death was a homicide and the cause was by strangulation," the Marion County Sheriff's Office said.
Marion County worked with Washington County authorities to execute a search warrant at the Hillsboro home of Lemarr Carver, Tricia Carver's 42-year-old estranged husband.
"When the tactical team entered the home of Mr. Carver he was found deceased inside from an apparent self inflicted gunshot wound," the sheriff's office said. "Mr. Carver is the primary person of interest in the death of Ms. Carver."
