HALSEY, Ore. - A truck hauling sulfuric acid crashed and leaked in a field Thursday, the Linn County Sheriff's Office said.

"There is no concern of risk to the public," the sheriff said in a press release.

A Haz Mat team was on stanby waiting for another truck to respond to off-load the sulfuric acid from the scene of the wreck on American Drive west of Powerline Road. Roads remained open near the crash scene.

The driver of the truck, Dawn Loftis, 69, from Woodland, Washington, suffered minor injuries.
