Run Santa Run: Eclectic Edge Racing holds 15th annual Jingle Bells Run

More than 150 runners took part in the Jingle Bells Run, a holiday 15 or 5K put on by Eclectic Edge Racing (SBG).

EUGENE, Ore. - While some people are scrambling to get the last few things on their holiday shopping list crossed off, some others are kicking off the festivities by breaking a sweat.

People were definitely were in the Christmas spirit at the 15th annual Jingle Bells Run, and participants said that running a few miles is the perfect start for the weekend before Christmas.

More than 150 runners put their best foot forward for the 15th annual Jingle Bells run. Some runners were excited to get active with the community during this time of year.

"It's a lot of fun," said Leah Watson, a 15K runner. "I've never done a race around the holidays, so it's exciting."

Other runners, like Corey Black, went all out on a costume while striving to get their best race time.

"I do love it, yea, it's good stuff," said Black. "It's just a good time, most people like to get into it with all the decorating and what not."

And the icing on the cake, the weather was much warmer than many runners expected a couple of days ago.

The run was organized by Eclectic Edge Racing, and their owner says he's happy to see runners try their best as well as sport a holiday wardrobe.

"It's tremendous, I mean everybody gets to do their thing, and that's really the essence of it," said William Wyckoff, owner of Eclectic Edge Racing. "Be who you are and celebrate and dress however you want and have a good time and everybody is accepted."

Eventually, runners finished their 15 or 5K race, and children also crossed the finish line for their 'Rudolph Run,' greeted by none other than Mr. Clause himself.

If you missed Saturday's run, there will be another on New Year's Eve and New Year's Day. For information on the run, you can visit
