Robot basketball at Matthew Knight Arena
EUGENE, Ore. - Here's something you don't see everyday; a robot, shooting hoops.
This was Saturday at the U of O women's basketball game.
This robot was part of the McKenzie River Gathering of Robots.
High school Robotics teams across Oregon got together for a robot expo that was open to the public.
This event was hosted by the nationally ranked, South Eugene high school robotics team.
"One of our main goals is to just let people know we exist and that robotics is an activity people can get involved in,” said Tiffany Huang, with the South Eugene robotics team. “We would definitely love to see some of these kids join our teams later on.”
The event was sponsored by the cities of Eugene and Springfield and several Eugene tech companies looking to invest in the next generation of employees.
