PORTLAND, Ore. — Authorities say they found the remains of a Gresham woman who has been missing since late last year, and investigators are asking for help in piecing together what led up to her death.
Family members reported Kristin Smith, 22, of Gresham as missing after she hadn’t been heard from since November 19, 2022.
On February 19, 2023, someone found human remains in a wooded area near Southeast Deardorff Road and Flavel Street in the Pleasant Valley neighborhood.
Portland Police searched the surrounding area for additional evidence with the help of Multnomah County Search and Rescue and the Multnomah County Medical Examiner’s Office.
The remains were later identified as belonging to Smith.
Authorities are not releasing any further information, citing an active investigation.
Family members said Kristin sometimes used the last name Reedus.
