EUGENE, Ore. - When Donald Trump announced his visit to Eugene, the City braced itself for possible protests.
A group in Eugene planned a peaceful protest set to start at Monroe Park Friday evening, just blocks away from the Lane Events Center.
There appeared to multiple protest groups or spontaneous protests taking place.
Hundreds of protesters lined the streets near the entrances to the fairgrounds.
Police responded to control the crowd.
There had been no known protests inside the Lane Events Center as of 6 p.m.
After Trump took the stage at 7:15 p.m., people could be seen being escorted out of the Lane Events Center.
Trump finished speaking around 8:15 p.m.
Supporters leaving the event encountered throngs of protesters outside.
