WOODBURN, Ore. – Police are searching for the man who was hauling a band saw that caused a 10-vehicle crash on Interstate 5 Tuesday night.

Police said the band saw fell off a flat-bed trailer the man was hauling behind a pickup truck near Woodburn around 9:30 p.m.

Witnesses said the driver initially stopped and started running toward the saw, but ran back to his truck and drove away once he saw vehicles start to hit it.

One of the drivers involved in the crash was taken to the hospital after the driver’s vehicle flipped several times.

Investigators say it was a 5-foot by 2-foot band saw.

There’s limited information on the suspect and truck he was in, but witnesses said it looked like he was driving a Ford F-250.

Anyone with information about the crash or the driver should call police.
