There's an increased police presence on the campus of Marshfield High School in Coos Bay Monday morning.

Monday morning, Principal Elias Ashton issued a message to parents that on Sunday night, school officials were notified of a threat posted to social media.

Coos Bay Police conducted an investigation and spoke with the person who made the threat.

They say they believe there is no credible threat at this time.

'Out of an abundance of caution and to prioritize the safety and well-being of our school community, the Coos Bay Police Department will increase their presence at Marshfield High School today,' said Ashton.

Students, staff, and parents are encouraged to report any suspicious activity.
