PORTLAND, Ore. – Police arrested a man who had more than $45,000 worth of MDMA in his car after he crashed into a Drugs & Vice Division K-9 unit vehicle on Sunday morning.

Officers were following up on a narcotics case when about 7:30 a.m. they found 25-year-old Toren Paul Flom parked in the parking lot of Jack in the Box on SE Powell Boulevard.

When police pulled into the parking lot, they said that Flom tried to drive away. He ended up crashing into a canine unit vehicle.

No one was injured in the crash.

Police searched the car and found just over a pound of MDMA, or “Molly” – an illegal psychoactive substance.

They searched another of Flom’s cars in Gladstone and seized another quarter pound (or 115 grams) of MDMA.

Police say that altogether it would have amounted to 2,865 total doses of the drug, and had a street value of about $45,000.

Flom was booked into the Multnomah County Jail on delivery of MDMA, possession of MDMA, attempt to elude, and reckless driving.
