'The car hit with such force that it spun off the bus and then also hit a pedestrian'
SPRINGFIELD, Ore. - Three people were taken to the hospital after a car hit a Lane Transit District bus from behind - and then bounced onto the sidewalk, hitting a pedestrian Wednesday morning.
The injured included one person on the bus; one person in the car; and a pedestrian who was hit when the car went off the bus onto a sidewalk along Harlow Road near Beverly Street, Springfield Police said.
"The car hit with such force that it spun off the bus and then also hit a pedestrian as well," Officer Mike Massey said. "Nothing at this point looks life-threatening, but everybody got transported to RiverBend hospital."
One of the 15 people aboard the bus was taken to the hospital.
Two people were in the car; one was taken to the hospital.
