Police arrest woman for DUII after SUV crashes 75 feet off Hwy 126 into McKenzie River

LANE COUNTY, Ore. -- Oregon State Police troopers arrested a woman after investigating a crash on Highway 126E in Lane County.

On Tuesday, September 11, around 11:42 p.m., troopers responded to a reported single-vehicle rollover crash into the McKenzie River near milepost 32.

Preliminary investigation revealed a white 2006 Mazda SUV driven by Shyla Marie Holloway, 28, left the roadway for unknown reasons and rolled down a 75-foot embankment before coming to rest in the river.

Holloway suffered non-life threatening injuries as a result of the crash.

She was arrested for DUII. Her blood alcohol content (BAC) was 0.16 several hours after the crash, police said, twice the legal limit.

The vehicle remained in the river overnight.

Highway 126E near milepost 32.4 will face possible closures Wednesday, September 12, when the vehicle is removed from the river.
