Passenger dies in single-vehicle crash in Southern Oregon

JOSEPHINE COUNTY, Ore. -- Just before 8 p.m. on Sunday, Oregon State Police troopers and emergency personnel responded to a single vehicle crash on Hwy 238 near milepost 8.5.

Preliminary investigation revealed a 2018 Nissan Rogue driven by Daniel Horowitz, 64, of Grants Pass, was eastbound on Hwy 238 when it veered off of the road and into the ditch.

The passenger, Julie Horowitz, 76, of Grants Pass, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Daniel Horowitz was transported to Three Rivers Medical Center for non-life threatening injuries.

The highway was partially closed for three hours.
