Over 45,000 attend Oregon Country Fair

People flocked to the 49th annual Oregon Country Fair in Veneta dressed as animals, mermaids, fairies and more. The gathering features music, performances, craft vendors and a variety of food. VENETA, Ore. -- Thousands of people flocked to the Oregon Country Fair over the weekend.

It was the 49th year for the annual event.

Here's a breakdown of the fair attendance this year:

  • Saturday: 17,542
  • Friday: 15,000
  • Sunday: 12,717

The three-day total attendance was 45,259.

Officials say in 2017, more than 47,000 people bought tickets to the fair. In 2016, there were more than 45,000 tickets purchased.

The most tickets sold was in 2015, when 51,000 were sold to the three-day event.
