Oregon SNAP households eligible for replacement benefits due to recent weather events

The Oregon Department of Human Services (ODHS) says Oregon households who receive SNAP benefits and lost food due to recent weather related power outages may be eligible for replacement benefits.

Oregonians who lost food purchased with SNAP benefits, due to recent wind and ice-storm related power outages, are encouraged to request replacement benefits from ODHS.

SNAP households that lost, or disposed of food that was unsafe to eat due to recent weather events can request replacement benefits for the cost of food that was lost. Households may requests for replacement benefits equal to one month of the normal benefit amount for that household.

Replacement benefits must be requested within 10 calendar days of the food loss by:
