More than 11,000 pounds of marijuana sold in Oregon within 3 months

More than 11,000 pounds of marijuana were sold in Oregon during a 3-month period last year, according to a report from the state's Department of Revenue.

The report states 4,997,000 grams of flower were sold between Jan. 4, 2016 through March 31, 2016, which equals about 11,016 pounds. Of that amount, 2,170,000 grams of flower (or 4,784 pounds) were sold in Portland city limits.

During that same time period, sales totaled $43,766,000.

From February 2016 to November 2016, the state collected $54,506,832 in taxes through a 25 percent tax rate.
