PORTLAND, ORE - An estimated 253,400 Oregonians get a raise Monday.

Oregon's minimum wage is set to increase July 1.

The increase is 50 cents statewide.

But the wage itself varies depending on where you live.

The standard wage paid in counties like Lane, Linn and Benton goes up to $11.25 from $10.75 an hour.

In non-urban counties like Douglas, Coos, Curry, Klamath and Lake, the wage goes up to $11 from $10.50.

In the Portland Metro area, the minimum wage increases from $12 to $12.50.

The three wage zones are part of a law passed by the 2016 Oregon Legislature.

That law took what was then Oregon's minimum wage - $9.25 - and established annual increases through 2022.

After that, the wage will be adjusted each year based on the Consumer Price Index.

At that point, the minimum wage in the Portland Metro will be defined as $1.25 more per hour than the standard wage.

In nonurban counties, the wage will be $1 less than the standard wage.
