EUGENE, Ore. — The University of Oregon greatest football player of all time comes back to Eugene this Friday.
Sweets Cheeks will be selling specialty wines with proceeds going to organizations like the Boys & Girls Club of Emerald Valley.
The labels include designs related to Mariota's life and career, with this year's commemorating the recent birth of his daughter.
Mariota has been doing this event for a few years now, but this will be the first to be open to the public.
"This year at the spring game, when he got to be the guest coach, when his name was called, it's almost like an electric feeling goes through the air,” said Sweet Cheeks general manager Jessica Thomas. “The people of Eugene really love him and he really loves the people who are here and have supported him and his family and his career. So, we just get to be a part of it, which is really cool."
We will catch up with Mariota this Friday and have coverage of the event.
