Man believed to have stolen multiple wedding gifts is arrested in Lane County
JUNCTION CITY, Ore. - Late in the afternoon on Thursday, a man was arrested for reportedly stealing gifts and personal items from multiple weddings in the Junction City area.
Brian Keith Starr, 42, was arrested and lodged at the Lane County Jail on multiple counts of Theft, Felon Possession of a Weapon and Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine.
The Lane County Sheriff's Office initially received a report on July 18th that a theft had occurred on July 15th at a wedding in Junction City. A gift box was reportedly stolen, containing cash, checks and other gifts for the married couple.
Three additional reports of similar thefts were made to the Sheriff's Office on July 28th, and personal property belonging to some of the guests was reported to be stolen as well.
Investigators identified Starr as a suspect thanks to tips from community members, and contacted him multiple times over the phone in an attempt to interview him.
Starr was arrested on August 2nd, and lodged at the Lane County Jail.
The case is still being investigated, and it is unknown if there are any additional victims.
