The man accused of attacking a young Beaverton girl with a knife while she slept was arraigned on 17 charges, including attempted aggravated murder and sexual abuse.

Robert Jackson, 21, was arrested last month in Washington state. He was extradited to Oregon and booked into the Washington County Jail on Monday (Dec. 4).

On July 29, 2018, Jackson is accused of sneaking through the window of an apartment on SW 6th Street and attacking the 10-year-old.

Authorities say she was able to scream and Jackson ran off. Court documents allege that she suffered a knife wound in the process.

Investigators said they have DNA evidence that linked Jackson to the scene. Police recovered a Leatherman multi-tool pocket knife at the scene as well; they believe it was Jackson's.

According to Beaverton Police, Jackson was living a few blocks away at the Stone Creek Apartments on Murray Road. Investigators ask anyone with information that could help the case to call 503-629-0111.
