Douglas County Fire District No. 2 Technical Rescue Team gave local American Legion Baseball teams a water safety class.
"This is a program we assisted with the last several years and hope to be able to continue," DCFD2 said.
It gives the athletes an introduction to self-rescue, utilizing throw bags to rescue others, identifying river hazards and understanding their own swimming ability.
They had 50 student-athletes in the class this year, which took place in early July.
