LCC students to prepare enough turkey to feed 2,200 at Whiteaker Thanksgiving dinner

EUGENE, Ore. - The 30th Annual Whiteaker Free Community Thanksgiving Day Dinner is coming up.

Over 1,500 pounds of turkey has been delivered ahead of the event.

Chef Clive Wanstall and Culinary Arts students at Lane Community College will prepare the turkeys to feed more than 2,200 homeless and less fortunate men, women and children at this year's Free Community Thanksgiving Day Dinner.

The dinner will be held Thursday, November 22, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the Whiteaker Community Head Start Center, 21 North Grand, Eugene.

Organizers are also seeking donations of blankets, warm coats and other clothing to help people who are unhoused.

Donations may also be dropped off at the Windermere Real Estate Offices, 1600 Oak or 3011 N Delta Highway Monday-Friday, 8 to 5 p.m.
