Heavy equipment stolen in string of thefts in Albany

ALBANY, Ore. - Police are working to locate heavy equipment stolen during the last week of December.

Thieves took three trucks, a heavy duty flat bed trailer, a stump grinder and a wood chipper in three separate instances between December 24 and December 31.

"It is possible the thefts are related," police said in a statement.

The equipment was taken from the Albany Parks and Recreation storage yard and a rental business, police said.

One of the trucks was recovered just north of Albany. The other equipment has not been located, police said.
