Head-on crash on Hwy 101 near Seal Rock kills Lincoln City woman, injures 2 others

One person died and two others were injured Thursday night when a car crossed into oncoming traffic on Highway 101 south of Seal Rock, Oregon State Police said. (OSP)

SEAL ROCK, Ore. - One person died and two others were injured Thursday night when a car crossed into oncoming traffic on Highway 101 south of Seal Rock, Oregon State Police said.

Troopers said a blue 2001 Lexus SUV driven by Patricia Norenberg, 55, of Waldport was southbound on Hwy 101 when it crossed into the northbound lane.

The SUV collided "partially head-on" with an oncoming gold 2008 Toyota van driven by Richard Larrett, 85, of Lincoln City.

The crash killed Larrett's passenger, 81-year-old Judith Larrett.

Medics took Richard Larrett and Norenberg to Samaritan Pacific Communities Hospital in Newport.

The crash response and investigation closed the highway for over 3 hours.
